Home Groups
The easiest way to belong and grow within our church family is from within a Home Group.
There are lots of good reasons for this - not least because life is better when lived in community with others! In St James and Emmanuel our Home Groups are places where people can find real frendships and if one starts from within the mini community of a small group it is so much easier to begin to understand our place within the wider community of our local church family and within the wider world at large.
At a deeper spiritual level it is within small groups that countless people have found, and continue to find, a place of security where they can grow as followers of Jesus, as modern day disciples. Indeed, our Home Groups are ideal places to address the big questions of life, including the challenges of trying to follow Jesus in the 21st century.
As a leadership team, we believe that true discipleship has already been modelled by Jesus himself and operates in three dimensions: Up (to God), In (to one another) and Out (to the world). Each of our Home Groups is encouraged to find their own unique and balanced expression of Up, In and Out.
