L’Arche Manchester a reality

Over the past 10 years, a group of people from all corners of the city have been praying for and working towards the establishment of a L’Arche community in south Manchester.
The group includes St James and Emmanuel's Julia Mansfield, Andrew Bradley and Naomi Hughes and they are thrilled to confirm a house has been bought.
'Our prayer has been that it would be close to the parish so we are delighted to have found this house on Heathside Road in Withington near Fog Lane park.'
'We will be opening our doors in the Summer. Before then there are major adaptations to be done to the house. We ask for your continued prayers that the works to be carried out progress well; that we identify the right group of people with learning disabilities to live together and that we are able to recruit the kind of dedicated, committed assistants that a L’Arche community needs to thrive.'
'Spiritual life is a huge part of L’Arche life! Please pray for us, as a church, that we will be a place of welcome to the people, with and without disabilities, who come to live in L’Arche Manchester.'
